Oil-Fired Power Plant
Heavy oil Residual oil + Crude oil
Oil-fired power plant burns oil (heavy oil, residual oil or crude oil) to generate heat energy. Heat energy is converted into mechanical energy which powers an electric generator. Oil-fired power plant and coal-fired power plant are almost the same, except that the fuel system of the oil-fired power plant is different, which doesn't have ash storage system.
It has the following advantages compared with coal-fired power plant:
1. Low maintenance costs
2. High heating efficiency
3. No ash pollution to the environment
4. Smaller land requirements without ash storage area
5. Easier installation for equipment
6. Easy to store and transport oil
